UNESCO E-library of Park Škocjan Caves and The Karst Biosphere Reserve



Monitoring is one of the most important activities in protected areas.

With different methods and processes we gain data on series of indicators that show state of conservation of nature and cultural heritage. They enable us to assess the effectiveness of conservation and revitalization processes, education and communication activities, management of tourism.  Appropriate interpretation of monitoring shows us trend of changes and indicate adequate measures.

This web page enables the overview of the literature and achievements in monitoring of World Heritage Sites, MAB biosphere reserves and Ramsar Sites from locations in Slovenia and abroad. In this way it enables the insight and gathering of ideas for research the causes and consequences of anthropogenic impact in nature and benefits of natural values for community, individual person and quality of life.
